Parenting Doesn’t Happen by Accident…
It’s hard work. It takes some intentionality to do well. But it’s not impossible to raise godly kids (or grandkids), and we want to help! At FBC Justin, our hope is to partner with you in your effort to become the main spiritual influence in your child’s life. We want to give you the tools and resources to be the kind of parent your child will one day look back on with gratitude.
What kind of parent did you have? If you had great parents, then you can pass on the legacy! If your parents were not-so-great, or just weren’t there, it’s not too late to break the cycle. In either case, we want to help you start to leave a legacy of faith. That’s what this page is for – equipping you to lead your children into a life-long love of and devotion to Jesus.
Look through the resources below, and check back often! We will be adding new resources all the time!
There’s an App for That?
If you’re looking for an app with family devotionals, parenting resources, help for couples, and more, we’ve got you taken care of! Some great people have put together the “@home” app to help you lead your family deeper in their relationship with Jesus. Parenting Workshop Featuring Dr. Dale Johnson
We were honored to host a workshop on January 23rd, 2015 featuring Dr. Dale Johnson, professor in the School of Church and Family Ministries at Southwestern Theological Seminary. Dale challenged us, stretched us, and helped us to see the biblical mandate for parenting. You can listen to the audio and download the notes by clicking on the links below:
Rites of Passage Experiences (“Ropes”)
In every child’s life there are those teachable moments, those significant events that can either be blown off as “just life” or used to deepen their love of their Heavenly Creator. We call them “Rites of Passage.” What are you going to do with those moments? We want to give you the tools to take your kids on a life-journey through their Pre-K, Elementary, Middle School, and High School Years.
We have compiled a ton of resources for you to use in every year of your kid’s existence from birth through their high-school graduation. From their first birthday to their first “big kid bed.” From their first Bible to entering Middle School with confidence. From forming a driving contract to preparing them to leave the nest and head off to college. All these and more can be found on the following pages:

Listen, Israel: The LORD your God, the LORD is One. Love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. These words I am giving you today are to be in your heart” Repeat them to your children. Talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Bind them as a sign on your hand and let them be a symbol on your forehead. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
